15.08.20222:50 That's the part that actually makes me ok with all of this, if they're an asshole who kills innocents then yeah, I won't feel bad at all if someone kills them for money
eakherenow kingsley
15.08.2022Let's think about the assholes who want to kill.Let's not see this as the answer. They can look and not shoot.

15.08.2022I love that this ends with her strangling a plushy lion

15.08.2022Say what you will about trophy hunters but they have limits on how many to shoot. But poachers have no limit.

15.08.2022There are almost a milion cases where the animals that were hunted were not 'troublemakers'. There is no way to identify troublemaker animals from regular animals unless its canned hunting, and none of that money goes to conservation. Also Namibia is a 'developed' country not a third world one so it is not like it is in desperate need of money to do stuff like this. The U.S. which they mentioned 'also benefits from trophy hunting' is the most powerful, most richest, and most capable of preserving its wildlife without hunting funds. It just chooses not to. By the way, won't hunting humans also count as conservation and good for nature and other people as well ?

15.08.2022In the area where I live, there's a species that needs to be hunted seasonally in order to prevent them from overpopulating and damaging their ecosystem, and the revenue from hunters does very much benefit the community as well as the ecosystem in some cases

nope
15.08.2022Something similar is done in New Zealand
Hunting there is also a part of conserving wildlife and fauna. Basically all animals there that are not birds are not native and hunt endangered species that never got the chance to evolve to defend themselves. It

14.08.2022So are people equally ok if a rich person were to pay £5m to hunt a poor person, if that money then went to save the lives of other poor people? Whilst trophy hunting does good for the animals, this method is just about rich people being free to kill just because they are rich.
Theamazingpotato
14.08.2022I mean yeah letting hunters kill animals that aren't helping conservation efforts works in your favor

14.08.2022Factory farming is very cruel . 1000 times worse than hunting . Atleast when hunting the animal dies instantly.
Your humble emperor, Karl Franz of Reikland!
14.08.2022No matter what people think in this comment section, trophy hunting endangered animals is not going to help them. I am not against trophy hunting animals that have large populations like that or say possums raccoons or deer, but no matter what you can’t justify killing endangered animals

14.08.2022"How can killing animals help animals?"
Many animals (including us) kill other animals for sustenance as well as to foster biodiversity.
This not only helps the animals doing the killing but also helps SCORES of other animal species.
The problem with humans is that we've needlessly sprawled throughout the earth to the point where such biodiversity is stifled.

12.08.2022I like to think of it somewhat like the Prohibition of alcohol in the US and how it basically removed regulations without actually ending the consumption of alcohol. Unlike poaching, trophy hunting is regulated, just like how alcohol while legal can be regulated, this can also be an argument for legalizing weed but that's a different episode.

12.08.2022I know she’s playing a character but people who are actually like that make me sick, do people not realize that a GOOD hunter will kill with no pain and not waste the meat or skin? Do they also not realize that these hunters are actually helping some animals by putting some out of their misery when their fate is to be mauled by bears or if they have a broken leg?
Josette Kasereka
12.08.2022lmao that's the reason why people from ''developed'' countries, think that africa means savana. I've lived there for 17 years and haven't seen a lion or a giraffe.

12.08.2022In between the people arguing for and against, I just don't really have an opinion. First off, this is the first comprehensive explanation I've gotten on the subject, and I'm not involved enough to go through scientific papers on it. Second, I like animals, but the amount of fetishizing and humanizing they get in movies and media harms our perception. Emotion shouldn't play as much of a role in it as it does. Poachers decimating a species is bad because it hurts ecosystems and fuels criminal gangs. We all were very sad when we watched the death of Bambi's mom as kids and we all hated the hunter, but that probably had no impact on Bambi's forest friends.

12.08.2022Why don’t we make it a real game and teach the animals how to shoot guys with crazy high powered scopes?

12.08.2022Trophy hunters target the most impresive animals since they want to have a nice TROPHY… So lions are becoming smaller and smaller over the years. And there is also lots of corruption in the trophy hunting funding. only up to 3% goes to the community
Sigurd Torvaldsson
12.08.2022Also vegans if everyone stopped eating meat and food from animals then the population of cows, chicken and pigs would approach zero.

11.08.2022Used to love your videos but not now. You seem to post without research. Let me break down some of the rubbish you just said….
Animals are running out of habitats. Farming etc. Completely true. Caused by…..humans. but let's blame animals for attacking live stock for our mistakes.
Funding does not go to conversation. It is a myth. Not more than 3% goes to it.
Population of these beautiful animals is very slowly….if at all….rising due to hunting laws. Nothing to do with the funds.
Trophy hunting theory would be the same as hunting a human in a poorer district. Sure, you may make some money they paid for the privilege to hunt and kill a human, for the benefit of the rest of those humans. Doesn't sound that great anymore does it?
Also, trophy hunters are cowards. Put your gun down and then kill that lion. Only then would I be impressed
MrSockez
11.08.2022Instead of paying 300k to trophy hunt a lion they should just legalize hunting the poachers for 1m each and the money/poacher problem will disappear in a week lol

09.08.2022One simple solution shoot the poachers. I mean like shoot the poachers and maybe like spend more money on Africa. Idk I might just be really simplifying it.

09.08.2022They also use local villagers to assist in the tracking of animals and they get a lot of, if not all of, the meat from the hunts.

09.08.2022and there are instances where the animal being hunted is invasive and has become a problem for the local ecosystem, so hunting them ir regulated, though more loosely than the hunting of native species [in some cases]. For example: in Texas all you need to hunt wild hogs is a license and landowner permission. it's open season with no bag limit and in many cases the meat is donated. However for deer hunting there are seasons and bag limits and some other restrictions [depending on the area] because while they're often hunted as a food source, it's important to not go overboard in order to maintain the stability of the population.
Guy McLaren
09.08.2022For every Buffalo running on 1 hectare of ground that will be hunted 4000 species of fauna and flora are protected as a by-product per hectare. Chameleons and dung beetles survive because someone wants a trophy, and someone else wants the meat.
Flyingturret208: The Cannon
09.08.2022Similar but different problem & solution is why deers are hunted. Deers overpopulate their habitats, and start to roam. Then… they walk in the middle of the street, and the deer in the headlights gets hit, wrecking somebody’s car. Hunting keeps their population down. Same with rabbits, though far less of an issue.
